IMO has set a new global cap on marine sulfur production at 0.5%, effective by 2020. The ECA region will have a sulfur content cap at 0.1%. Although oil refiners have started to expand new fuel production, it will take years before the facilities are completed and approved fuels are easily available. With HSFO still being the cheapest and most readily available type of fuel, the scrubber solution is a cost effective and practical option for both newly-built and retrofit vessels.
Marine Scrubber
RETROFIT SOLUTIONS
Using 3D scan and layout drawings,we can minimize the installation and alteration of the ship’s existing system.
NEW BUILD SOLUTIONS
We work with your engineers and shipyards to coordinate and integrate the marine scrubber into the ship.
BENEFITS:
- Class and IMO compliant
- Compact design reduces diameter of scrubber stack
- Can substitute as engine silencer
- Meets engine manufacturers’ back pressure requirement (<~1000 PA)
- Links multiple engines’ exhaust stream together
- No moving parts require little to no maintenance
- Can remotely monitor and troubleshoot online
- Usable lifespan of 20+ years

CASE STUDY
A ship has a fuel consumption of 34.5 tons per day and a utilization rate of 60% or 220 days out of the year. The cost and ROI of a marine scrubber is as follows:
